Die Voßstraße

Focusing on the time period between 1932 and 1940, the historic buildings
of Voss Street were digitally recreated for this film. Aside from the architectural
highlights on the street, such as the Ministry of Justice, the Bavarian legation
and Palais Mosse, the film also discusses the building where Albert Speer
executed his first contract for the Nazi Party in 1932. The way in which the
construction of the New Reich’s Chancellery influenced the character of the
street is demonstrated, as well as the expansion of Voss Street that would
have taken place by 1950. This expansion was never carried out, and formed
part of the plans for the new Reich’s Capital – “Germania”.
